A potential difference produced across a conductor by the generator effect.
Revise: MicrophonesIf the coil is connected in a complete circuit, this induced potential difference drives a current. The microphone has therefore transferred energy from the sound wave, through the mechanical movement of the diaphragm and coil, into an electrical signal.
