Depth

Doubling the depth doubles the pressure due to the liquid because the column above the point has twice the volume, mass and weight for the same cross-sectional area.

When discussing pressure at a point in a liquid, depth means the vertical distance below the liquid’s surface. It does not mean the distance above the bottom of the container.

At the same depth, a denser liquid produces a greater pressure than a less dense liquid because an equal-sized column of the denser liquid has more mass and therefore more weight.
