Revise: Liquid Pressure EquationAtmospheric pressure acts on the surface of an open liquid and is transmitted through it. It is present at both depths, so it cancels when calculating a pressure difference within that liquid.

The equation gives the pressure difference caused by the liquid column. Do not add atmospheric pressure unless the question supplies it and asks for total pressure.
