Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS)

National Governing Bodies (NGBs) provide information about individual sports, while the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is another source of government participation information. These sources can answer different questions. A sport's membership records, for instance, may describe registered members rather than everyone who plays informally.
