Revise: Peaceful ProtestsDuring Freedom Summer in 1964, civil rights organisations including SNCC and CORE worked to increase Black voter registration. Volunteers, many of them White college students from the North, supported registration work and Freedom Schools. The schools provided education and helped people prepare for the tests used to restrict voting.
