It was launched from mobile sites across the Channel, travelled through the upper atmosphere and then descended towards its target. Civilians received little warning before impact, and it was extremely difficult to intercept.
Use precise examples to support explanations: Black Saturday for attacks on the docks, Deptford for V2 devastation, and Bethnal Green for the dangers of shelter access.
