Revise: Causes of Illness and DiseaseIndustrialisation did not itself create cholera or typhoid. Instead, it brought many people together in unhealthy conditions. Overcrowding increased opportunities for infection, while inadequate disposal of human waste allowed sewage to contaminate drinking water.
Explain the causal link: sewage contaminated drinking water, so people drinking it could contract cholera or typhoid. ‘Towns were dirty’ alone is too vague.
