Revise: The Alliance SystemTogether with the Franco-Russian Alliance, these agreements created the Triple Entente linking Britain, France and Russia by 1907. Its structure was uneven: France and Russia had a military alliance, whereas Britain’s agreements were not automatic commitments to fight. Germany nevertheless saw their growing cooperation as further evidence of encirclement.
