Revise: Cultural ChangeTraditional culture included festivals, family rituals, religious beliefs, literature, music and theatre. These connected people to an older China that the CCP associated with inequality, superstition and foreign domination.
Include Jiang Qing and the replacement of traditional culture with revolutionary culture, not just destruction. Do not assume that suppressing public worship eliminated private belief.
