Paper 2
Revise: The Flavian Governors: Bolanus, Cerialis, and FrontinusFrontinus turned sustained military attention towards the Silures of South Wales. Their resistance was a longstanding problem: earlier governors had fought them, but had not brought it to a lasting end. Subduing them would remove a persistent threat on the western side of Roman Britain.
Support comparisons with named peoples and places: Cerialis campaigned against the Brigantes in northern Britain; Frontinus subdued the Silures in South Wales.
Keep secure achievements separate from reconstructions: Frontinus’ defeat of the Silures is firmly attested, whereas the full extent of his other campaigns is less certain.
