Revise: The Flavian Governors: Bolanus, Cerialis, and FrontinusCartimandua, queen of the Brigantes, had relied on Roman support, but her rival Venutius rebelled in AD 69. Roman intervention did not restore her position, and Venutius remained in power. This weakened the arrangement through which Rome had exercised influence over the Brigantes without directly conquering their territory.
