Revise: The ‘Boom’A share represents part ownership of a company. People could buy and sell shares on the stock market. As businesses prospered, confidence encouraged buyers to expect that share prices would continue rising.
Distinguish hire purchase of consumer goods from buying shares on the margin. Both involved credit, but they financed different purchases.
