Paper 1
Revise: Culture and the Role of Women in Tragedy and PhilosophyPlato’s Gorgias is a philosophical dialogue: a written conversation which tests competing arguments. Sophocles’ Tereus and Euripides’ Medea are tragedies, using mythical characters to explore serious conflicts. Their speakers’ words must be understood within these different purposes, rather than treated as straightforward reports of everyday life.
- Revise: Xenophon and Domestic Life
A written conversation in which speakers explore ideas about matters such as conduct, knowledge or the organisation of life.
