Pan-Arab nationalism

Definition

A political outlook which argues that Arab peoples share a common identity and should cooperate or unite politically.

In his 1954 book, Philosophy of the Revolution, Nasser outlined a wider role for Egypt, beyond its own borders. His pan-Arab nationalism linked opposition to Western influence with the idea that the region’s resources should benefit its own peoples.
