Revise: Motives and Evolving Aims of the ExpeditionAlexander demanded recognition as King of Asia. His refusal to share power is clearer evidence of his aims than the knot story: he intended to rule the empire, rather than merely punish it or obtain a limited settlement.
Use dated evidence to demonstrate change, such as the demand to be recognised as King of Asia after Issus in 333 BC and the Susa marriages in 324 BC.
