Hegemon

In 337 BC, Philip established the League of Corinth, an alliance of Greek states, and became its hegemon, or leader. This position gave him authority to invade Persia in the name of Greece. In spring 336 BC, Philip sent Parmenio and Attalus to Asia with an advance force.
