Revise: The First Secession and Early Plebeian Reforms (494-471 BC)Volero did not use his new office simply to seek revenge against the consuls. He proposed transferring the election of plebeian magistrates from the comitia curiata, the curiate assembly, to the comitia tributa, the tribal assembly. For the tribunes, the issue was no longer just whether plebeians should have representatives, but how independently those representatives could be chosen.
