Revise: Crown and ParliamentThe monarchy and House of Lords returned, but the prerogative courts associated with Charles I’s arbitrary government were not revived. These courts had helped the king enforce his authority outside the ordinary legal system. The Triennial Act initially remained in force, requiring a Parliament at least once every three years.
