Managing a forest to meet people's needs today while maintaining its biodiversity, resources and ability to support future generations.
Revise: Sustainable Management of Tropical RainforestsSustainable forest management means meeting people's needs today while maintaining the forest's biodiversity and resources for future generations. In Malaysia, political decisions about how forests are governed work alongside economic incentives from timber and ecotourism. The important question is whether these activities make keeping a functioning forest worthwhile, rather than encouraging its clearance.
