Revise: Causes and Consequences of FloodingA manageable seasonal flood may support farming, whereas a deep, fast-moving flood may destroy the same farmer’s crops and livestock. Residents and businesses may suffer major losses even where farmland gains fertile sediment. The strongest judgement therefore considers timing, depth, speed, duration and people’s ability to recover, rather than treating all flooding as either beneficial or harmful.
