Revise: Desertification: Causes and ManagementOver-cultivation: repeated cropping without enough time or nutrient replacement exhausts the soil. Crops remove nutrients when they are harvested. As fertility declines, plants grow less successfully and provide less protection for the ground.
Include removal of fuel wood, overgrazing and over-cultivation as well as climate change and population growth.
