The nutrient stores are relatively balanced compared with those of a tropical rainforest, though they change seasonally. The biomass store is smaller than in rainforest because growth is restricted by the dry season. The soil nutrient store is comparatively larger: vegetation demand is lower, uptake is concentrated in the wet season, and there is less leaching during the dry season.
