Revise: Processes at Plate Boundaries and HotspotsAt a destructive boundary, plates move towards one another. Where an oceanic plate meets a continental plate, the denser oceanic plate sinks beneath the less dense continental plate. This process is subduction.
At destructive boundaries, explain subduction using density: the oceanic plate is denser, not simply thinner.
Distinguish destructive boundaries from collision boundaries: both involve plates moving together, but collision involves two continental plates.
