Revise: Glacial LandformsA crag and tail develops where a mass of hard, resistant bedrock stands in the path of moving ice. The ice erodes less resistant material around it, but the crag protects material immediately downstream. Deposition in this sheltered area adds debris, while moving ice abrades and shapes the material into a tapering tail.
