B-movie

Invasion of the Body Snatchers was a low-budget B-movie. Allied Artists, its financial backer and distributor, set a budget ceiling of US$300,000. The film uses relatively few special effects; much of its impact comes from ordinary-looking people, recognisable locations and suspense.
