Paper 1
The restoration of a peaceful relationship after conflict.
Revise: Act 5Montague promises a golden statue of Juliet, and Capulet promises an equally rich memorial to Romeo. These gestures enact reconciliation, but cannot restore the children. The gold also creates a troubling echo of Romeo's earlier attack on money: wealth can purchase poison or monuments, but it cannot undo death.
- Revise: Plot overview
