Revise: Characters, dialogue and settingWith first-person narration, a character tells events using ‘I’. Readers can experience that narrator’s thoughts directly, but other people’s thoughts usually have to be inferred. ‘Dad looked towards the door; perhaps he wanted to leave’ separates something the narrator sees from something they guess.
