Revise: Reading 20th- and 21st-century fiction and literary non-fictionAn autobiography recounts the writer’s own life; a memoir usually concentrates on particular experiences or a period within it. A biography recounts someone else’s life. Letters address a recipient, speeches address listeners, and travel writing describes journeys and encounters with places.
