Scale factor

A drawing made at 50% of the original linear size uses a scale factor of 0.5. Increasing every length by 20% means keeping the original 100% and adding 20%, so the multiplier is 1.2. Decreasing every length by 5% leaves 95%, giving a multiplier of 0.95.
