Fraction

Definition

A number written as one quantity divided by another. In $\frac{a}{b}$ , the numerator $a$ is divided by the denominator .

A fraction represents division. Its top number is the numerator and its bottom number is the denominator. To convert a fraction to a decimal, divide the numerator by the denominator.
