Specification 6.5.2, 6.6.3 · Paper 1
A plan showing how pattern pieces fit within the available fabric width and length.
Revise: Material SizesNext, make a lay plan using these cutting dimensions. For woven fabric, follow the pattern's grainline: this normally runs parallel to the selvedge, the finished edge of the fabric. Changing the orientation simply to squeeze pieces into a smaller space can change how the finished product hangs or stretches.
- Revise: Techniques for Quantity Production
