Revise: Finishes and TreatmentsLacquering applies a clear protective coating. Unlike coloured paint, it leaves the metal’s appearance visible, making it useful when a polished brass or copper surface needs to retain its shine with less frequent cleaning.
Polishing smooths the metal itself; lacquering adds a clear coating to preserve its appearance. They can be used together.
