Coating a cleaned, preheated metal part by dipping it into fluidised polymer powder, which melts and adheres to its surface.

Revise: Surface treatments and finishesDip coating can cover a metal part with a thick polymer coating. First, the metal is cleaned and preheated. Air is blown through a bed of polymer powder so that the powder behaves like a fluid; this is called a fluidised bed.
For powder-based dip coating, explain that the metal is preheated so the polymer powder melts and adheres; dipping alone does not complete the process.
