Revise: Gear TypesA gear is a toothed wheel. When two gears mesh, their teeth engage so that turning one forces the other to turn. The input gear is the driver; the gear receiving its movement is the driven gear.

A toothed wheel that transmits rotary motion by meshing with another toothed component.
Identify the driver and driven gear for each meshing pair before substituting tooth numbers into a calculation.
Check the result: a larger driven gear should turn more slowly than its driver. Give rotational speed in rpm.
In a compound train, gears fixed to the same shaft have the same rpm, even if they have different numbers of teeth.
