Revise: Manufacturing ProcessesForging, stamping and extrusion reshape solid metal. Casting forms a shape from molten metal, while powder metallurgy starts with metal particles. Welding joins components, and hardening changes material properties rather than creating the main shape.
Justify a process choice by linking an advantage to the product: for example, forging suits a connecting rod because it produces a strong component that can withstand repeated loading.
Distinguish casting from forging: casting shapes molten metal as it solidifies; forging reshapes solid metal using force.
