Revise: Need for CompressionCompression reduces the size of a data file. Its two main benefits follow from this reduction: there is less data to store and less data to transfer. Compression can retain all the original information or remove some of it, depending on the method used.

Compression does not make an internet connection faster or increase a device’s storage capacity; it reduces the amount of data that needs to be transferred or stored.
Lossy compression does not necessarily produce an obvious change in appearance or sound, but some original data is still permanently lost.
Justify your choice using the file’s purpose and whether any loss of information is acceptable. You do not need to carry out a specific compression algorithm.
