Revise: EnzymesThe substance an enzyme acts on is its substrate. It binds to a particular region of the enzyme called the active site.
Explain specificity using the complementary shapes of the substrate and active site, not simply by saying that an enzyme is specific.

For denaturation, link the changed active-site shape to the substrate no longer fitting and fewer enzyme–substrate complexes forming. Enzymes do not ‘die’.
