A contraceptive method that physically prevents sperm reaching an egg, such as a condom or diaphragm.

Revise: Contraception MethodsA barrier method physically separates sperm from the egg. A condom prevents sperm from entering the reproductive tract. A diaphragm is placed inside the vagina over the cervix—the opening into the uterus—so sperm cannot pass through towards the egg.
