Revise: Waste Water TreatmentThe sludge is removed from the settlement tank and placed in tanks for anaerobic digestion. Anaerobic means without oxygen. Bacteria break down organic matter under these conditions.
Keep the two treatment branches separate: sludge undergoes anaerobic digestion; effluent undergoes aerobic biological treatment.
