Revise: Hormones and Metabolic RateWhen a person faces danger, the adrenal glands release adrenalin into the blood. The resulting fight-or-flight response prepares the body to confront the threat or escape from it. Both actions may require rapid, powerful muscle contractions.
In an adrenalin explanation, link increased glucose and oxygen delivery to increased respiration in muscle cells, releasing energy for movement.
