Revise: Nature of organic compoundsOrganic compounds are based on carbon. Some occur naturally, while others are made synthetically. Carbon can form four covalent bonds, and a carbon atom can bond to another carbon atom.
Do not say that every organic compound has the same properties. Compounds within a family have similar chemical properties; different families behave differently.
Link the large number of organic compounds to all three ideas: carbon forms chains, rings and families of similar compounds.
