Noble gas

Group 0 is the column on the far right of the periodic table. Its elements are called the noble gases and include helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon and radon. The group is also called Group 18 in the numbering system used by some periodic tables.

The noble gases occupy the right-hand column of the periodic table. From top to bottom, they include helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon and radon. Their position gives us a way to predict physical properties: if a property changes consistently down the group, an element between two known elements is likely to have a value between theirs.

Group 0 contains the noble gases, including helium, neon and argon. At room temperature they are colourless, odourless gases made of individual atoms rather than diatomic molecules. They have very low boiling points, although boiling point increases down the group.
