Organic growth

Organic growth, also called internal growth, develops the business’s existing activities. External growth combines it with another business through a merger or takeover. A business can use both routes at different times.

A business can grow by expanding what it already does: producing more, reaching more customers or offering a wider range of products. This is organic growth, also called internal growth. The business increases its own activities rather than joining with or buying another business.
