Specification 4.1.1.2, 4.3.1.4, 4.4.1.1, 4.8 · Paper 1, Paper 2
The process by which green cells use light energy to make glucose.
Revise: Animal and Plant Cell StructureChloroplasts are the site of photosynthesis. They contain chlorophyll, which absorbs light energy used to make glucose. Chloroplasts are found in photosynthetic plant tissues, particularly green tissues exposed to light; not every plant cell needs them.
- Revise: Fungal Diseases
The process by which green plants use light energy to make glucose from carbon dioxide and water.
- Revise: Photosynthesis Reaction
The chemical process in which carbon dioxide and water are converted into glucose and oxygen using energy transferred by light.

- Revise: Ecosystems, Bioenergetics and Nutrient Cycling
The process in which green plants and algae use light energy to make glucose from carbon dioxide and water, releasing oxygen.
