Revise: Detection of plant diseasesIn PCR, short primers are chosen to match the ends of that sequence. The DNA is heated to separate its strands, cooled so the primers can bind, and copied by DNA polymerase. Repeating the cycle makes many copies of the target sequence, allowing it to be detected even if the original sample contained very little DNA.
