Revise: Genotype and PhenotypeDevelopment takes place in an environment. Cells use genetic instructions under particular conditions and with particular resources available. Factors such as nutrition, light, water, temperature, exercise and disease can therefore affect how a characteristic develops.
Do not state that the environment always changes an organism’s DNA. It can alter the phenotype without altering the genome.
Avoid saying that every characteristic is controlled by one gene or by genes alone. Most characteristics involve genomic instructions interacting with the environment.
