Revise: Water CycleWhere seawater is available, desalination can provide another source of potable water by removing those salts. One method is distillation: seawater is heated so that water evaporates, leaving the salts behind; the vapour is then cooled and condensed to collect liquid water. Another method, reverse osmosis, uses pressure to force water through a membrane that separates it from dissolved salts.
