Revise: ChromosomesIn body cells, chromosomes are normally found in pairs. The two chromosomes in a pair correspond with one another: one was inherited from the organism's biological mother and the other from its biological father.

If asked about body cells, state that chromosomes are normally found in pairs. Do not assume this applies to gametes such as egg and sperm cells.

Human body cells are generally diploid, with 46 chromosomes in 23 pairs. During mitosis, both daughter nuclei receive the same complete chromosome set as the parent nucleus. The chromosome number is maintained rather than halved.
