Revise: Classification systemsAn artificial classification system groups organisms using a limited set of features selected for a practical purpose. These are often easy-to-observe characteristics, such as whether an animal has wings or whether it lays eggs. An identification key may use such features because they allow an unknown organism to be identified quickly.
