Revise: Identifying time series trendsA trend line is one straight line representing this underlying direction. With moving-average points available, use a ruler to draw a line of best fit through their middle, keeping the points reasonably balanced above and below it. In this example, all five averages happen to lie exactly on one straight line; real data need not do so.
